Project Honeymoon - Day 10: Drive to Wellington

4.5 hour Drive from Napier to Wellington - Luckily we have 2 nights in Wellington so we can have a bit of rest from driving

Wineries: Mission Estate & Craggy Rock - Our Fodors book has these two wineries starred.  We sample wines and leave with 5 bottles.  Not quite sure what our limit is to bring home (whether it's 1L or 1.5L each), but we figure we can either declare everything when we get home or drink some while we're still in NZ.

Arataki Honey Visitor Centre - Our host at our Waitomo B&B told us about the Arataki Honey Visitor Centre after I had asked him about Manuka honey.  Admission is free and you can sample 10 varieties of honey.  Hubby and I actually found the exhibits quite interesting and spent about an hour there.   Each type of honey had a distinct flavour and were arranged from mild to strong.  Clover honey is the mildest and most popular around the world.  Manuka honey fell in the medium range...I wasn't quite sure if I liked the taste or not, but I had to bring some home anyway.  One honey I certainly wasn't going to bring home was Thyme honey...OMG...that tasted terrible!  They also put that honey on the end as the last one to taste (a very strong flavour)...so I went back to clean my pallate with some Clover honey...LOL.

A Wind Farm - On our way to Wellington on Hwy 57 we see a spectacular wind farm along the mountaintops.  The windmills go on and on for kilometres; the photo below only shows a handful of them.  With the gloomy sky, it almost looks like the scene is from a sci-fi movie.
